The Roman road between Sant Pau de Segúries and Sant Salvador de Bianya is part of the ancient communication route between Ripollès and Garrotxa. Archaeologists believe it is likely that this cobblestone road connecting Sant Salvador de Bianya with Sant Pau de Segúries is of Roman origin. It could be a secondary branch of the Via Augusta, which started in Vallespir and, passing through Coll d’Ares, headed towards the Fluvià Valley.

MUSHROOM HUNTERS

Around Camping els Roures, you can find pine and beech forests where you can walk and discover the highly prized saffron milk caps, porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, and black trumpets, among others. The richness of the native vegetation promotes the growth of a wide variety of mushrooms, such as porcini, St. George’s mushrooms, blewits, “dirty tricholoma”, saffron milk caps, and many more, making autumn a unique time to engage in mushroom foraging in a likewise unique scenic environment.

THE LITTLE BEACH OF SANT PAU

Just a 6-minute walk from the camping, you’ll find La Platgeta de Sant Pau, a section of the Ter River set up for swimming, with picnic tables available.

Throughout a 3-hour walk, you can leisurely stroll surrounded by trees and animals. You’ll be in the heart of nature while observing various animal species: bears, lynxes, wolves, golden eagles, marmots, genets, deer, wild boars, foxes… All of them live in semi-freedom, in the best conditions of well-being and in their natural habitat.

Halfway through the route, you’ll find a picnic area where you can have breakfast, lunch, or a snack, or simply rest for a while, enjoying the sound of the river flowing nearby. The boldest visitors even dip their feet in during the height of summer!

At the entrance/exit, there is another picnic area where you can watch the bears, and during the warmer months, this is where you’ll find the Molló Parc inflatable.
